The Artist Nonna Vaisberg Srur

Nonna Vaisberg Srur

Born in Ukraine in 1965, Nonna Vaisberg Srur was a prolific artist whose passion for painting transcended borders and styles. In 1991, Nonna made a significant journey, both in her life and artistically, when she made Aliyah to Israel, settling in the historic city of Safed. This move marked a new chapter in her artistic journey, deeply influencing her work and perspective.

Nonna's art is a reflection of her life's journey, characterized by a diverse range of styles and mediums. Throughout her lifetime, she mastered the art of still life, portraits, and abstract painting, showcasing her versatility and deep understanding of each genre. Her preferred mediums included oil paint, watercolors, and acrylics, allowing her to express her artistic vision in vivid and varied forms.

Nonna Gallery, named in her honor, stands as a testament to her artistic legacy. It houses an extensive collection of her works, each piece telling a story of her life's experiences, cultural transitions, and artistic explorations.

Tragically, in 2007, the art world lost a luminous presence when Nonna passed away. However, her legacy continues to live on through her art. Each painting at Nonna Gallery is not just a visual experience but a journey through the life of a woman who painted with passion and lived with purpose. Her work remains an inspiration to many, a vibrant blend of cultures, colors, and emotions that speaks to the enduring power of art.
